11/02/26 – Beth’s Wish

Today’s blog being our first, it probably needs to set the scene, so let’s begin at the beginning.

When Beth was receiving treatment for JIA – a painful and physically debilitating type of arthritis which affects children and we don’t know why (that’s what ‘idiopathic’ means) – we learned a lot about the kinds of support that work and the kinds that don’t.

As Beth’s treatments escalated, we noticed some glaring gaps in the support provided to young people with auto immune conditions, support they really need if they are to flourish.

That’s how the idea for Beth’s Wishes Foundation was born.

We hoped Beth would recover and run Beth’s Wishes Foundation with us, but that isn’t how this story evolved. Instead, three of her very best friends, and Beth’s aunt, brother and mum, are the ones running the charity today.

Together we are committed to invest the energy, compassion, creativity and love that Beth would have, to build a charity which grants wishes.

While the consultants and their teams work out how to treat the condition affecting you, we want to help by funding a support worker to be there for you. We want you to have someone to be by your side, who can help you better manage what is going on.

Until next time,

with our very best wishes,

Beth’s Wishes
