Beth’s Wishes Foundation was founded in April of 2020 to support young people through challenging surgeries and transplants for the treatment of autoimmune disease.
Autoimmune diseases represent a wide range of diseases with various causes and treatments. While most people respond to typical treatments well, some more aggressive treatments are needed for the most severe cases. These treatments involve extremely damaging chemotherapies or invasive surgeries- similar to those used to treat cancer. Despite the similarities in treatment, people going through these surgeries don’t receive the same support given by charities supporting people with cancer, such as MacMillan Cancer Support.
Beth’s Wishes Foundation will fund support workers to assist young people undergoing these very difficult surgeries and therapies.
