About Beth

Beth was a courageous young woman, loved by all who knew her. An artist, writer and philosopher, Beth enjoyed a wide range of music and possessed unmatched skill when it came to video games. Beth cared deeply for animals, her ponies, cats and lately her puppy, Gypsy, benefitted from her time and love. Beth always managed to put others before herself, her selfless acts of kindness touching many people as she looked to make our lives better. Beth’s quick wit and wicked sense of humour never failed to cheer us up even on the darkest days – she had a contagious laugh that warmed our hearts.

Beth spent more than half her life in and out of hospitals but she tried very hard not to let that bring her down. She was incredibly brave and remained strong ’til the end. In April 2020, as Beth was recovering from a stem cell transplant to treat juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA – a form of rheumatoid arthritis) she became unwell with a virus which proved impossible to treat. At the age of 19, Beth’s beautiful, full life, one lived at speed, has ended. We are here to ensure her wonderful legacy will continue. As Beth had planned to, we have set up Beth’s Wishes Foundation, a charitable trust with the purpose to assist young people under the age of 26 whilst they undergo stem cell or similar treatment for autoimmune disease, by providing funding for a healthcare professional to be there for them and their families, offering practical and emotional help and support during the process.
